How we make money

HeatAndAirCost connects homeowners with independent, licensed HVAC contractors. The service is free to you: contractors pay us, and that never changes what you pay. We are not a contractor, we do not perform repairs, and the prices on this site are researched ranges, not quotes.

What this means for you

When you request quotes through this site, we may be paid a referral or advertising fee by the independent, licensed HVAC contractors who receive your request or call. That compensation is how the site stays free. It does not change the price a contractor quotes you, and it does not buy a contractor a better rating from us, because we do not rate or rank contractors.

Amazon Associates

HeatAndAirCost is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Our symptom guides include a small “Try this while you wait” box of Amazon search links for screening or upkeep items such as CO alarms, air filters and thermostat batteries. Those links are labeled “Affiliate links” where they appear, open on Amazon, and cost you nothing extra. They are never placed above a safety instruction, and none of them is a substitute for a licensed technician or an emergency call.

Partner quote modules

Some pages show a quote-request module from a partner such as Angi. On our symptom guides it is labeled “Advertising partner.” The partner pays us a referral fee for a completed request. We do not recommend, rate or endorse any specific contractor.

Our cost figures are not quotes

The price ranges throughout this site are researched from published sources and cited on each page. They are national ranges meant to tell you whether a quote is fair. They are not offers, estimates, or quotes, and only a licensed contractor who inspects your system can give you an actual price. See our methodology and sources for exactly how we research them.

No paid reviews or fake endorsements

We do not publish testimonials, star ratings, or sponsored “best contractor” rankings, and we do not accept payment to feature a specific company in our editorial content. Any external links we mark as sponsored or nofollow are labeled as such.
